CarFest History

The first ever CarFest in aid of St Vincents was in June 2014.

Willie Chrystal from MaxSafe Solutions, a safety training company in Paisley, was carrying out safety training with staff at the hospice when the conversation turned to an old car that he was “doing up”. A 1975 Corvette Stingray. He asked the fundraising team how they would feel if he arranged a car show in the hospice car park to help raise funds and the profile of the hospice.

It was a great success, with MaxSafe sponsoring the trophies for the best car and bikes at the show. There were further CarFest shows in 2015 and 2016, with the number increasing each year. In 2017, Paisley First approached the hospice to see if they would like to bring the event into the town centre of Paisley. A very successful day was had by all at CarFest 2017, sponsored by the team at Paisley First.

The event this year looks to be bigger and better again, still with MaxSafe organising and arranging the vehicles with Paisley First sponsoring and supporting the promotion of the event, which we hope will bring a smile to the faces of all the kids, young and old, and raise much-needed funds for the hospice.

Looking forward to seeing you all there on the 15th June 2019.

Willie
